The agenda and list of speakers for the AMPS Technical Seminar, to be held at the Hilton London Paddington Hotel on Tuesday 6th October, has been finalised and can be viewed below.

A limited number of places is still available for the day. Members still intending to attend are encouraged to register as soon as possible in order to secure their place. A link to the registration facility is given below:

The consultation response period, in regard to the prospect of changes to the basis of pensions tax relief, closes at 11:45pm on Wednesday 30th September. AMPS members might be keen to express their views on the consultation, in a panel discussion to be held at the AMPS Technical Seminar involving former Shadow Pensions Minister, Gregg McClymont, and Charles McCready of TISA.

The AMPS Committee has already submitted its response to the consultation, and has argued for retention of the current system of Exempt-Exempt-Taxed, with tax relief on member contributions continuing to confer tax relief at the member's marginal rate of income tax. The Committee recognises that some AMPS members might disagree with this position; the Committee would be particularly interested to hear such alternative views at next Tuesday's panel discussion.
