Bribery Act
Members are reminded that the Bribery Act takes effect from the 1st July 2011. Apart from the offence of giving or receiving a bribe, Section 7 of the Act introduces an offence of ‘Failure of a corporate organisation to prevent bribery’ although where firms have systems & controls in place this can be used as a defence against Section 7 of the Act.
