AMPS has now submitted its formal response to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) consultation, “Protecting Pension Savers – Proposals to Amend the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Conditions for Transfers) Regulations 2021.”
SSAS Marketing – AMPS Member Survey Notification
AMPS are planning to issue a short survey to all member firms to collate some much needed data on the SSAS market.
It has been widely recognised that there is very little data on the SSAS market as a whole – at the last SSASLab this issue was discussed at length. As things stand we are unable to say with any certainty how many SSAS exist, how much pension savings sit within SSAS and what contribution SSASs make to UK’s growth agenda. This makes it more difficult for us to make points on behalf of our industry, or demonstrate the scale of impacts when changes are proposed.
At the same time AMPS were preparing this survey, DWP came to us to ask about transfers into SSAS schemes to help with their planning for the impact on MAPS when the new transfer regulations come into effect.
The result is a survey that we will be issuing to all member firms shortly. We will only be sharing aggregated number of schemes and aggregated transfers information with DWP.
Both AMPS and DWP are very grateful for your help with this. We both recognise that this is a voluntary exercise and hopefully you will not find the survey overly onerous.
We will, of course, share a summary of the outputs with the membership, but we will not publish any data that will identify or relate to any one firm in particular.
With grateful thanks in advance
